What are some advantages of having high jump spikes?

I recently acquired a pair of high jump spikes, and I'm looking to see how they are going to affect my performance. What are the advantages of using a pair of high jump spikes? How have they worked for you?

Also, if you've had experience with this, what size spike do you use? Are you supposed to use a different length in the heel?

Any input would be great!|||High jump spikes are spikes made for high jump, just like sprinting spikes are made for sprinting and etc. They are like a good pair of sneakers except with traction for not really stumbling when you go through your j-curve. Unless you only do high jump, I don't suggest having the pair because a good pair of running shoes (I use Asics) will work just fine. But if you have them, use them.

The spike for the actual shoe should come with it. If you have to buy them separately, buy spikes designed for high jump. The spikes are all the same size and are short, kind of like mid-distance spikes.

Good luck with high jump :)
