What are the differences between high jump and long jump?

I think I want to sign up for high jump in track but I don't know if long jump is easier or more fun, what are the differences?|||long jump - athletes combine speed, strength, and agility in an attempt to leap as far from the take-off point as possible.

high jump - competitors must jump over a horizontal bar placed at measured heights without the aid of any devices.|||Long jump is probably easier, because htere is more technique to high jump with arching your back and taking off at the right spot and position.|||It's mostly what you prefer, but there are pluses and minuses to both:

High Jump: Technique is important, but there are many ways to do the jumps

Long jump: Running speed plays a major role; if you can't sprint too fast this might not be the best for you.

I did high jump and liked it a lot, but both are fun depending on your perspective.
