I'm thinking of doing high jump for track this year. It's my first year and today we got to test all of the field events. I thought high jump was fun and my coach said that I was doing great for my first time. Are there any exercises or drills I can do at home to help me improve?|||Well see high jump training is different from like distance or anything else. In high school they even separate you in groups, but you don't wanna run distance... AT ALL.
Running anything over 2 miles can lower your vertical jump and last time I checked the vertical is important in high jump.
Squats
Calf raises
practice form on your bed.
Ask your coach really. They know your physical anatomy better than me.
