How high is the bar set for the opening jump in high jump?

I'm A sophomore girl high jumper and i was wondering how high they set the bar for the opening jump. When I was doing it in Jr. High it was like 4'2'' or 4'4''. But I know its higher than that so if u know and can help that would be great!|||depends on the meet. it's set by a committee. it's usually an average of what each jumper can jump or below that. in high school meets that allow jumpers to choose their opening jump because if there is a tie it's decided by the previous jump height cleared or by the number of scratches.|||Props, you nailed that one.
