What are the physics of high jump?

im doing a brousure on high jump and i cant find anyhing on the physics.|||just think about it as throwing an object up in the air and catching it

when you jump up there is a negative acceleration of 9.8 m/s squared

and at the top of the jump the velocity is going to be zero

but when the high jumper is falling down then it has an acceleration of 9.8 m/s squared because that is equal to gravity pressing down on the object

i hope this helps a little bit
